Recommended Course Order

Depending on what you want to learn, below are recommendations of courses to purchase and the order you should work through them.

Note: Chord Substitutions Made Easy, The Chord Toolbox, and The Nashville Number System were recorded later than the courses discussed below and can be taken at any time, assuming that you can read and play 4-part harmony out of a hymnal.

There are prerequisites for many of the courses (you do not have to purchase and work through the prerequisite courses, but you must know the concepts in them or you will get lost in a hurry). In most cases, the prerequisites are Theory for Church Pianists and How To Chart A Song. Not every pianist needs to take these courses, but most should. The concepts in those two courses are foundational and critical to understanding what is taught in the other courses.

Here are recommendations and suggested orders for different paths.
