Last fall, I recorded five big pieces of music that I am releasing slowly as video singles. MasterBuilder came out last Thanksgiving. Today, I am releasing a second one entitled “Soul Rest,” adapted from “Be Still, My Soul.”

This is another collaboration with Ben Botkin and is designed to be a very dramatic piece of music. It is quite possibly my favorite of anything that I have ever done.

I will talk at length about what I did with this in the coming week or so, but for now I want to mention that the name (Soul Rest) is based on the idea that Christians have to let go of a lot of things and just rest in God’s timing through the seasons of life and all the ups and downs. You will see hints of this theme all through the video both in the music and also in the visuals.
